The following is a guest post by Erica Molina:

(note this deal cannot be purchased in the US )
A US company headed by a serial, very successful entrepreneur is looking for 6 million dollars to complete a 1800 hectacre  plantation to grow bamboo. (they have already raised 6 million from private investors).

return table as follows

  • year 1 – 5%
  • year 2 – 6%
  • year 3 – 7%
  • year 4 – 10%
  • year 5 – 20%
  • year 6 – 30%
  • year 7 – 40%
  • year 8 – 40%
  • year 9 – 40%
  • year 10 – 45%
  • year 11 – 45%
  • year 12 – 50%
  • year 13 – 55%
  • year 14 – 55%
  • year 15 – 55% Plus initial capital is returned.

Deal notes

-Third party trustee(fsa regulated and authorized)  holds bond and first lien on plantation valued at 39 million and will take ownership should payments not be made.
-The bond issuer is already one of the largest operators in the area with over 1100 hectacres under management and over 350 employees.
-The founder started his business career in fashion and grew a company from scratch to 120 million in 6 years. Then founded a hedgefund and grew it from 5 million to 500 million.
-Bamboo is the fastest growing land plant on earth allowing for extremely quick returns on capital.
-Global timber trade is currently at 600 billion and growing.
-Bamboo can, and is, replacing traditional timber in almost every application because of it’s lower cost, better quality and lower enviornmental impact. In fact it sequesters 4 times the CO2 as timber and produces more O2
-Agricultural Ministry of India expects global demand to quadruple by 2015.
-All growth and sale models have been validated by Yale School of Tropical Forestry.
-US now imports the largest amount of Bamboo in the world and so locating in Central America gives company advantage over Asian competitors.
-The current world supply of Timber is compromised by unethical cultivation (30% of present worldwide timber production) and unsustainable methods (40%) thus Bamboo is the timber of choice for a cost and enviornmentally conscious world.

Bond issuer expects close to half the 6 million to be raised by mid november so if you are interested in deal number two and would like the entire 6 million then it would be in your interest to act quickly.

Thanks for taking a look. And I urge you to stick around as I have real estate(worldwide) oil and gas and a mining deals that might interest you.
Best
